　存在は大昔から問われてきた。しかし、「存在」と「人間の了解（Verstehen）」とが必然的な相関関係にあるという問題意識から、この問いが問われたことはなかった。この姿勢がハイデガーに固有な画期的な点であったのである。ハイデガーは、人間に「現存在（Dasein）」という奇妙な術語を与えたが、その意味は、「人間が存在（Sein）の現れる場所（Da）である」という点にある。私たちの了解は言葉となって表されるが、私たちの言葉はすべて存在の現れる場所である。たとえば、「空は青い（der Himmel ist blau.）」と言うと、そこには「ist（seinの変化形）」がある。「私は悲しい（Ich bin traurig.）」と言うと、そこ（end228）には「bin（seinの変化形）」がある。このように、人間はみな言葉を話しながら、存在を現しているのである。この素朴で無自覚的な存在了解を明確で自覚的な存在了解へとしあげることが、ハイデガーが生涯をかけて遂行した仕事であった。
　さて、この出発点からすでに明瞭なことは、「存在の現れ」は「人間がいかなる者であるか」に依存している、ということである。『存在と時間』における現存在分析は、二〇世紀最大の哲学者の名をほしいままにしうる天才的な「人間の解釈学」であるが、残念ながら、それに触れる紙幅がない。いま、その結論のみを言えば、まず、世界とは人間と無関係に客観的にそこにあるものではない。人間の了解が己の周囲に張りめぐらせた意味連関の全体性が世界なのである。だから、世界は「世界化する（welten）」と言われる。それは、世界が人間の企投（Entwurf）とともに生起することを意味している。だから、世界は人間と命運をともにするのである。
　では、世界を世界化する人間そのものは、どういう存在者か。人間とは「己を超えて己のあり方を未来へ投げ企てる可能的存在（Sein-können）」であるが、その由来と行く手を「無」にさえぎられた徹底的に有限な存在者である。すなわち、人間は「自分自身のうちに己の存在根拠をもたない」という意味で「負い目ある（schuldig）、無的な（nichtig）、投げられた（geworfen）」存在者であり、同時に、あらゆる可能的な企ての果てに「不可能性の可（end229）能性としての死へと最後の企てを投げるべく定められた者（Sein zum Tode）」なのである。
　だから、人間とは無の深淵の上に宙吊りになっている存在者である。このことの自覚が不安（Angst）にほかならない。それゆえ、不安は人間の本質に根差す情態で、なにかの欠損状態なのではない。もともと、不安には確たる対象がない（vor dem Nichts）のだが、それは、人間が本質的に無に直面しているからである。こうして、私たちが自己の存在根拠のなさを自覚するとき、同時に、世界もまた無のうちに「滑り落ちる（entgleiten）」。とうぜんだ。なぜなら、世界とは人間の企投と不可分の関係にあるからである。この不安の無の明るい夜のなかで、存在が開けてくる（『形而上学とはなにか』）。

Ukraine’s armed forces have released their latest estimate for war casualties, although the Guardian cannot verify them. The country’s army now claims to have killed 164,910 Russian troops since the start of the war. Of these, they say 710 were killed in the 24 hours to Sunday morning. They also report having destroyed eight Russian artillery systems since Saturday.

A shortage of explosives is hampering the efforts of European countries to provide Ukraine with arms, according to a report. Industry insiders told the Financial Times that gunpowder, plastic explosives and TNT are in short supply and could delay a planned ramping up of shell production by as much as three years. It means Europe’s defence industry may be unable to meet expected EU orders for Ukraine.

Britain and Ukraine have signed a digital trade deal, which will give Ukraine access to electronic financial services to aid reconstruction efforts. The UK department of business and trade said trading digitally was particularly important in the conflict, because damage to Ukrainian infrastructure and warfare had made it much harder to trade physically.

Serbia’s president attacked the decision to issue an international arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin, saying it will only prolong the war in Ukraine. Aleksandar Vučić, who has previously boasted of his personal relationship with the Russian leader, told reporters in Belgrade: “I think issuing an arrest warrant for Putin, not to go into legal matters, will have bad political consequences and it says that there is a great reluctance to talk about peace (and) about truce.”

  • いま二時一九分。ここまでいつもどおりのながれで特段のことはない。覚醒後に時刻をみたのが八時四五分、離床は一〇時前。一〇時一四分から二〇分強瞑想。からだの感じはよかった。腰や背面をやわらげたのが奏功している。とはいえ腕振り体操をしたときには、きのうそれなりに打鍵したから腕ぜんたいがやっぱりだいぶこごっているな、という感覚だったが。寝床では「読みかえし」ノートをけっこう読めたのでよい。食後の音読もWoolfの英文だけでなく、「ドゥイノの悲歌」第九歌もぜんぺん読んでおいた。神品芳夫訳のほう。食事は温野菜と、崎陽軒のシュウマイが三つのこっていたのでそれをおかずに米を食ったあと、椀に白米を足して納豆とともにさらに食べた。バナナとヨーグルトも。好天で、昼下がりの現在レースのカーテンはかなりあかるいが、洗濯物はほぼなかったので洗濯はせず。食事中や食後、「偽日記」で福尾匠のブログが貼られていたのでそこをおとずれて活動実績のなかのめぼしいリンクをメモしておいたり、Guardianを読んだり。一二時二〇分くらいから寝床にごろりとなってホメロス／松平千秋訳『イリアス（下）』（岩波文庫、一九九二年）を読んだ。132から183まで。なかなか迫力のある描写があって、書きぬこうとメモする。あと、詳細な引用はいま省くが、ヘレのことばをゼウスがほぼそのまま反復するセリフがあって、『イリアス』においては上巻からおりおり、伝令役が文言をつたえるときなど、他人に言われたことばをかなり忠実に、ほぼ変えずに反復して口にするという機会があったのだけれど、ここまでゼウスが他人のことばをなぞるという例はあったかなとおもってちょっと目に留まった。上巻なんかではむしろゼウスのことばを伝令役の神がそのままつたえるというかたちが多かったはずで、人間同士のあいだでも目下のものが目上のもののことばをなぞるのが主になっていたのではないかとおもうので。またそのヘレの発言中だが、「彼が息絶え縡切 [ことき] れた時には」（134）という表記があり、こときれるってこんな漢字で書けるの、とものめずらしかった。「縡」の字で検索してみると字義は、ひとつにはことやことがら、もうひとつには息や命の意があるらしく、訓読みで「こと」とも読むし「いき」とも読むという。すげえ。物語のながれというか戦闘の展開としては、パトロクロスによってゼウスの息子サルペドンが殺され、その遺体をめぐって戦闘は激化し、ゼウスの介入によりトロイエ勢はビビってイリオス城へと退却するのだが、いっぽうポイボス・アポロンも介入してトロイエ方を踏みとどまらせ、パトロクロスもアポロンのしわざで呆然とたたかえなくなり、こんどはヘクトルがかれを討つにいたる（アポロンのあと、いちばんさいしょに槍をあてたのはエウポルボスという男だが。この男もすぐあと、第一七歌の冒頭でメネラオスによって殺される）。そうしてパトロクロスの遺体をめぐってまたしても激烈な戦闘が展開されているところ。アキレウスはまだ親友が死んだということを知らずにいる。また、ヘクトルもこのあとまもなく死ぬ運命だということがまえからひきつづき明言されている。
  • きょうは労働で四時ごろには出なければならないが、四月一日の会のために『フォークナー短編集』もはやいところ入手して読みはじめなければならない。それできょう、出立をはやくして労働に向かうまえに本屋に寄るか、あるいはあしたか、とおもっていたのだが、二時ごろシャワーを浴びて出てきたところで、いやここは時間（と記述の労）を節約してAmazonをつかおう、というきもちに変わった。まあわからん、あした出かける気になるかもしれないが。しかし注文するならはやいほうがよいだろう。ここまで記して二時四〇分。あまり打鍵に時間をついやさず、労働のまえにたっぷり身をやしないたいとおもったのでこんなところだ。

As the negotiators were issuing a joint communique, the Israeli finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, delivered a speech in Paris saying the notion of a Palestinian people was artificial.

“There is no such thing as a Palestinian nation. There is no Palestinian history. There is no Palestinian language,” he said in France late on Sunday. He spoke at a lectern draped with what appeared to be a map of Israel that included the occupied West Bank and parts of Jordan.

A far-right settler leader who opposes Palestinian statehood, Smotrich has a history of making offensive statements against the Palestinians. Last month, he called for the Palestinian town of Hawara in the West Bank to be “erased” after radical Jewish settlers rampaged in response to a shooting attack that killed two Israelis. Smotrich later apologised after an international uproar.

The heightened tensions with the Palestinians coincide with mass demonstrations inside Israel against Netanyahu’s plans to overhaul the judicial system. Opponents of the measure have carried out disruptive protests, and the debate has embroiled the country’s military, where some reservists are refusing to show up for military service. Netanyahu has rejected a compromise by Israel’s figurehead president.

Netanyahu’s government says the plan is meant to correct an imbalance that has given the courts too much power over the legislative process. Critics say the overhaul would upend the country’s delicate system of checks and balances and push Israel toward authoritarianism. They also say Netanyahu could find an escape route from his corruption trial through the overhaul.

The protests, along with the rising violence with the Palestinians, have posed a major challenge for the new government. So far this year, 85 Palestinians have been killed, according to the Associated Press. Fourteen people in Israel, all but one of them civilians, have been killed in Palestinian attacks.
